The cinnamon tree is a small evergreen tree that grows in Sri Lanka. It has pretty leaves that change color from red to green and produces fruit. 

You can steam the bark of Cinnamon tree to get the oils from it. This oil has a sweet and spicy smell that is very pleasing. You can use it for cooking, in drinks, or to make things smell nice.

Cinnamon Apple Chips

Ingredient

  • 5–6 medium apples (Fuji or Pink Lady are recommended, but use your favorite variety)
  • 2 tablespoons raw sugar 
  • 6 drops Cinnamon Bark oil
Instructions:
  1. Preheat oven to 107° C. 
  2. Combine sugar and Cinnamon Bark oil in small bowl. Stir to combine. 
  3. Slice apples into thin slices no more than 1 centimeter thick. For best results, use a mandolin.
  4. Place apple slices onto a parchment paper covered baking sheet in single layer. Make sure there’s no overlapping to ensure the crispiest chips.  
  5. Sprinkle apple slices evenly with sugar mixture. 
  6. Place baking sheet in preheated oven for 45 minutes, flipping halfway through the baking time. 
  7. When the edges of the apples curl, take them out of oven and place on wire rack until cooled and crispy.
