What’s Inside my Travel Bag: Essential Oils Edition

Are you planning a trip soon? I know you already have a checklist of what you need to bring and pack– clothes, toiletries, gadgets, snacks, among other things! But is it enough? We know that traveling is not only fun and games. There is also a list of possible stomach issues, weakened immune systems, and environmental threats that need to be addressed right away.
All that sounds discouraging but the good news is I will be sharing the top essential oils that I highly recommend to be included in your travel bag. Read on and find out more about them!
On Guard Sanitizer Spray

This is perfect for when you’re on the go! It is infused with the dōTERRA On Guard Protective Blend that contains Wild Orange, Clove, Cinnamon Bark, Eucalyptus, and Rosemary essential oils. The apple extract mixed in this blend naturally moisturizes your hands leaving them feeling soft and smooth after use. Most importantly, it contains ethyl alcohol that gives the mist its antiseptic properties that effectively cleanse hands and prevent the spread of bacteria. Always shake well before use and spray 1 to two veils of mists on your hand and rub them together until dry.
Melissa Essential Oil

This is one of my favorite oils because it is packed with health benefits. One of which is it supports a healthy immune system. It also helps calm feelings of tension and nervousness when traveling to new places. Lastly, its soothing abilities can help create a restful sleep environment. Put a drop under your tongue to calm nerves for anxious occasions.
Deep Blue® Oil (Soothing Blend)
This is a blend of Wintergreen, Camphor, Peppermint, Ylang Ylang, Helichrysum, Blue Tansy, Blue Chamomile, and Osmanthus. Deep Blue® Oil is the perfect massage oil. It has cooling and soothing effects that help ease occasional discomforts. Rub a few drops on your lower back to get rid of unwanted stress on your back muscles. The cooling and soothing sensation help bring relief when I am feeling tired.

Clove Essential Oil
I am keeping this oil on hand at all times since this is especially useful for dental hygiene. Clove oil can cleanse the mouth and help freshen breath. The cleansing and soothing benefits you can reap from this oil are beneficial not only for the teeth but also for your gums. Add one drop of Clove oil in two ounces of water and gargle for a soothing effect. You can also add one drop to your toothpaste, which will promote clean teeth and fresh breath.
Peppermint Beadlet

Aside from the usual breath mints, candies and gum, these convenient beadlets are perfect for traveling! It provides all the benefits of Peppermint essential oil. One of the most beneficial ingredients in Peppermint is menthol. Each tiny beadlet delivers a refreshing burst of Peppermint as it dissolves in your mouth. For oral care, pop 1 to 2 drops in your mouth. Peppermint oil is also well known for its ability to help alleviate an occasional upset stomach. For occasional digestive issues, dissolve 2 to 3 beadlets in your mouth.
Lavender Essential Oil

This oil is widely known for its ability to promote a relaxing atmosphere. The calming properties of the Lavender help create a serene environment that is ideal for rest and sleep. Add a few drops of Lavender to your pillows, bedding, or bottoms of feet at bedtime. Its relaxing aroma helps ease feelings of stress or tension. Add a few drops to your bath water to create a relaxing Lavender essential oil bath.
DigestZen® Oil (Digestive Blend)
This is a blend of essential oils that naturally aids the body in the digestion of food. When traveling, the unpredictability and discomfort of occasional stomach upsets can often put a damper on the day. DigestZen® Oil also helps reduce bloating and gas. To ease the occasional upset stomach, put a couple of drops in your water.

Rose Essential Oil
Rose is my favorite essential oil! It is highly aromatic and has soothing benefits. The floral aroma is just comforting that it takes away any feelings of uneasiness in new places. Its uplifting scent helps calm nerves whenever traveling sometimes becomes stressful. I usually apply this at the back of my neck, behind my ears, and on my pulse points.
Tea Tree Essential Oil
I make sure that I have this oil wherever I go because it helps soothe occasional skin irritations. Dilute the oil with Fractionated Coconut Oil and apply one to two drops onto the affected area. I highly suggest keeping this oil in your bags for its cleansing, rejuvenating, and purifying properties. Add this to your skincare routine by combining 1 to 2 drops to your facial cleanser.

Whether you are traveling for business or fun, it is always best to feel protected and ready for anything that may come your way!
