Why You Should Have Clove Essential Oil at Home

Clove essential oil is high in antioxidants and is frequently used for internal benefits as well as taste. When taken orally, this potent spice essential oil promotes digestion and cardiovascular health. When diffused, it emits a warm and energetic scent. Take a water drop or a vegetable capsule daily to take Clove internally. The oil is also utilized in cooking and baking and may be found in a variety of recipes, including gingerbread and pumpkin spice. A drop of clove essential oil gives a spicy flavor while also giving internal health benefits.* Clove essential oil is also commonly used in massage for its warming effect.

Clove essential oil is extracted from the unopened and dried flower buds of Eugenia caryophyllata, an evergreen tree. Though it is more typically known as a ground household spice, clove oil is a distinct and potent choice that may be used outside of the kitchen. Clove oil is a popular choice for seasoning food, giving a warming massage, refreshing your breath, and other uses. Clove essential oil has several practical applications, making it a valuable addition to any household.

Clove tree buds contain a considerable quantity of the active chemical component eugenol, which adds to Clove oil’s stimulating scent. Eugenol has been shown in studies to help the body maintain normal gastrointestinal motility, which is especially beneficial during times of stress when the digestive tract is not functioning properly.* Eugenol is also used in several dentistry applications, which is why the oil from clove buds is often noted for its benefits for oral care.

The Latin word clavus means “nail,” which is an appropriate term given that clove buds resemble little tacks or nails.
